Marana DBA Workshop 9/2 part 3 Arkansas Traveller
Hey
I've tried to find Arkansas Traveller for other instruments other than guitar. I did find tabs for Fiddle, Mandolin, and Banjo. Problem is some stuff is easier to copy over or send a link than others on this Blog page. Anyway, I will have copies for all instruments for Arkansas Traveller at the Wednesday Workshop. In the meantime, learn the progression.
I sent out the Guitar version in D which is the key of the song. A lot of guitar Flatpickers like to play songs in D out of the C position and capo 11. I can't find the C version, if you have it please share it. I'm alright playing it out of D, just move my fretting hand to second position and it makes it easier. If you're not sure what second position is on the guitar, ask me at the Workshop.
Here is the link to Arkansas Traveller for Banjo.

Please note that the tune is capoed for D, the author flattens the 5th string to F#, a half step lower. The F# is the third of the chord D, so it could work. I know most Banjo players peg their fifth string for A when playing in the key of D, A is the fifth of the D chord and I believe it would be acceptable. Play around with it and let me know what you think. If you didn't understand any of what I wrote here, you are either not a Banjo player or are in serious need of theory from my beginner class, haha!
Keep picking
Jeff
